23. Wooden Prison later becomes tomb
French Photographer Albert Kahn in 1913 took this photo when he was in Mongolia. Water was placed on the ground and prisoners would beg for water. The photographer probably wanted to help her, but he was forbidden to do so cause that would be interfering with the local culture. He was only allowed to observe.
