16. Grace O’Malley
She is considered a hero to some for fighting for independence for Ireland, and a thieving brutal pirate to English. She was active in 16th century in Ireland and England. She was daughter to Sea trader and nobleman Dubhdara O’Malley and she took his fleet when he died. She also built castles to protect her wealth. She lost everything around the age of 56, and escaped death sentence. She later started fighting the Queen of England’s enemies after writing a letter to her.
