They have long, soft usually reddish, brownish, or black fur. They sleep at night and take midday naps. They jump from tree branch to branch. They defend a territory by chasing off unwanted guests. They live near wet water sources. They eat leaves, insects, bird eggs, small vertebrates. Their German name is Springaffen or jumping monkey.
