10. The Robertson Family
A whale slammed into a Dougal and Lyn Robertson ship on June 15, 1972. They were set to sail on a small boat with 3 kids and a friend for 36 days. Eventually rescued by Japanese Fishing Trawler Toka Maru II. Robertson told about the ordeal in the 1973 book Survive Savage Sea.
