2. Steven Callahan, the drifting man
2This man was drifting in the Atlantic for 76 days until after 1800 miles of the ocean he reached land and got saved by the rescue team. He had three pounds of food and eight pints of water. Imagine the mental fortitude required to abstain from finishing your supply on a five-and-a-half-foot inflatable rubber raft. He must have been extremely lonely as well, so he divided his mind into captain and crewman characters. He kept a written log of the fight between the captain and crewman over what should be done about the water.
