Himeji Castle
In the beautiful Kansai region city in Japan, Himeji is the home of one of the few original castles of the feudal era, the Himeji Castle.
It was rebuilt many times throughout history, however, it was originally dated back to 1333 when Akamatsu Norimura built a fort on the Himeyama hill. The fort was taken down and rebuilt into Himeyama hill in 1346. Two centuries later, the Himeji castle was remodeled and rebuilt.
In December 1993, the castle was recognized as one of the first UNESCO World Heritage sites
